We’ve got your guide to a DIY at-home facial using Huna’s amazing product line up! While we do recommend getting a professional facial done at minimum every season change, treating yourself with an at-home Huna facial in between will certainly help to keep your skin up to buff!

First things first, you always want to start with preparing your space. This is a very important step! Choose a space where you can be uninterrupted. This is YOU time! Set up shop where there is a spot for you to dim the lights, play some relaxing music, light a candle or put some essential oils in your diffuser. Don’t forget a spot where you can line up your products that you will be using, a few face cloths, towel, small dish for mixing your mask, bowl of hot water (or a sink nearby),  and anything else you may need.

Using a clean cloth for each step of an at home facial helps to ensure that you are not spreading bacteria, and that you are fully wiping away the products without any residue from previous steps. If you do not want to use a new one each time, make sure you are rinsing yours out until water is clear.

Tie your hair back, put on your sweatpants, and let’s dive in.

Cleansing: Revitalize Cleansing Creme

We begin with Huna’s Revitalize Cleansing Creme. Open your little jar of greatness, and take a big deep breath in noticing the unique aromatherapeutic scent that this cleanser gives off. You can thank the unrefined ucuuba for this relaxing scent. It is so soothing, it’s absolutely the best start to your at home facial.

To use the Revitalize Cleansing Creme, begin with damp skin. You will notice that the cleansing creme will melt between your finger tips. Massage onto your face, gently, using upward circular motions. Huna’s cleansing creme will even remove subborn eye makeup – hello waterproof mascara!

Once your face is cleansed remove by taking your cotton muslin cleansing cloth (that you received with your cleanser), and using fairly warm water, dampen your face cloth, let it sit on your face for a few seconds before wiping away the cleanser. You are now left with fresh, clean skin!

Exfoliation: Clarify Sandalwood Microexfoliator + Mask

Every facial, whether at a spa, or at your home should include exfoliation. Exfoliation is so very important when it comes to skin care. Removing the dead, damaged skin cells from the top layer of your skin will allow for better absorption of products, as well as, unclog and minimizes pores, fades age spots, and leaves skin looking more clear, clarified, even-toned, and brighter.

This is where Huna’s Sandalwood Microexfoliator + Mask saves the day. This Microexfoliation is a gentle yet intense exfoliation. Sandalwood is a powerhouse. It’s potent antibacterial properties to clear skin of blemishes combined with the fact that Sandalwood is an astringent which will effectively minimize the appearance of your pores makes this exfoliator/mask a must have in your skin care regime!

Using your spatula, remove about 1/2 – 1 tsp of powder from the jar, mix with about the same amount of water until a paste is formed. Apply this paste over entire face, avoiding your eye area, using upwards circular motion, and gentle pressure. Let this mask sit on your skin for 10-15 minutes until dry. Once dry, use a clean face cloth, with lukewarm – cool water and remove revealing your super soft and super smooth skin!

Steam

Now it’s time to steam your face, opening those pores right up, and preparing your skin for what is to come. To steam your face at home, you can run a clean wash cloth under very hot water, wring it out, and let it sit on your face for a few minutes, or until cool. You can repeat this a time or two as it is ideal to steam the face for 5-10 minutes. Another method is to get a bowl of boiling hot water, and place your face close, but not so close that you get burned, over the rising steam. Place a towel over your head and the bowl to trap the steam inside.

Mask: Revitalize Superfood Detox Mask

Once your skin has been steamed, you are now ready to mask! Huna’s Superfood Detox Mask is such a treat for your skin. To mix up this mask, you want to use about 1/2 tsp of powder to 1 tsp of water (may vary depending) until you have a creamy paste. Again, we will use upward circular motions, as you never want to use a downward motion or pull at the skin. Apply this mask to entire face, being careful around the delicate eye area. Massaging the mask for a few minutes before letting it set will help to really lift out your skin’s impurities, while boosting circulation. Let this mask sit for approx 3-5 minutes, or until it starts to dry, but just around the edges. It’s best if you do not let a clay mask dry completely as when you do, it dries your skin out. Once the edges start to dry, run your facecloth under warm to hot water and place over your face. The enzymes in the mask and the steam from the cloth will team up  together to really get in there, and get those pores cleaned out. Rinse thoroughly and reveal your glowing, brightened, soft skin, ready for finishing!

Moisturize + Finish: Revitalize Age-Grace Face Serum

Now that we have all the bad stuff out, it’s time to lock the good stuff in!
