Huna is Hiring!  That’s right, this is your chance to join the Huna Dream Team!  We are currently accepting applications for ‘Marketing & Operations Coordinator’ and ‘Finance & Accounting Specialist’.  Both roles are Full-time Term positions and may potentially lead to permanent employment at Huna.  Read on for details on the roles and how to apply.

 

About Huna

Huna Skin Inc. formulates, manufactures, and distributes innovative and science-based Natural and Organic High-performance Skincare and Cosmetic products across North America. We operate within the Clean Beauty/Cosmetics and CPG (Consumer Product/Packaged Goods) industries. We currently sell nationally across Canada (both in retail and online), and we are in the process of expanding within the US market, and launching a new exciting product line.

We are a startup, and we run a lean team- so everyone works together to get the job done. We all wear multiple hats, multitask, and communicate effectively to achieve the company’s goals. Everyone works hard, but we have fun and keep a positive, cool and upbeat attitude day-in & day-out.

Job Posting: Finance & Accounting Specialist

Full-time Term: 6-10 months. (Potential to lead into Permanent Role).

Pay Rate: $14.00-$23.00/Hour. (Depending on experience & skills).

Location: Huna Skin Inc. Lab & Office, Richardson Centre for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals (University of Manitoba), 196 Innovation Drive, Winnipeg, MB.

Hire Date: Preferably as soon as possible, however negotiable.

The Role

The role title is officially ‘Finance & Accounting Specialist. If you have added skill sets to offer the company, then we will adjust your role profile to better suit your skills.

General Role Responsibilities

  • Develop Financial Sales Forecast for North American market, for both online & retail.
  • Along with support from CEO, develop 5-Year Financial Plan for Company.
  • Along with support from CEO, develop Strategic Growth Plan for Company.
  • Track daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly company sales performance. Create reports.
  • Run various financial analyses and develop reports, business cases, documents.
  • Bookkeeping, tracking and filing expenses.
  • Track financial figures and company and consumer tracking measures. Create and share reports & findings.
  • Present financial findings and recommendations to CEO.
  • Working with various retail accounts and strategic partners to grow the company and achieve goals.
  • Manage projects, campaigns and activities through to completion.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed & assigned.

Key Skills Required

  • Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Skills developed in Financial Forecasting, Financial Planning, Financial Analyses, Strategic Growth Planning, and Developing sound Business Cases and Reports.
  • Strong interest and passion for working in the Clean Beauty industry.

We’re a startup, so we operate lean and everyone on the team works multiple roles.  The ideal person for this role can swing a lot of responsibilities.  A typical day may include working on a financial sales forecast for North America, tracking our sales performance, running analytics & developing reports for the CEO, then ending the day by helping the team pack & ship orders out!  Whew…all in a days work!

General Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and schedule/send Marketing Emails (MailChimp platform).
  • Create and schedule/post Social Media Ads and posts.
  • Write Blogs and Marketing content. Update website with new content.
  • Pick, pack and ship or deliver retail and website orders.
  • Create and send Invoices and Packing documents.
  • Assist in the manufacture of natural/organic beauty products in Huna Labs.
  • Various operational tasks (not limited to); cleaning and sterilizing bottles and jars, applying labels, batch coding, inventory, organizing, cleaning dishes and lab equipment, recording data, creating retail and presentation documents, researching, collating data, developing reports, ordering supplies and materials, putting away stock, reviewing contracts, filing, bookkeeping, budget reporting, etc.
  • Working with various retail accounts and strategic partners to grow the company and achieve goals.
  • Manage projects, campaigns and activities through to completion.
  • Weeding, watering and caring for herbs and botanicals in Huna’s outdoor organic Skin Nutrition Gardens located in southern Manitoba (approximately 1.5 hours southeast of Winnipeg) will be required as part of the role. Car pooling is available so you are not required to have a license and vehicle). This is hard work during the summer months. Approximately once every week to two-weeks in duration.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed & assigned.

  • Note: This role requires some outdoor activity. You will be required to weed, water and care for plants and herbs at the Huna Gardens in southern Manitoba. You must be able to work for long durations outdoors, be physically fit and carry a minimum of 30lbs, and can tolerate outdoor working conditions from time to time.
  • Ideally you have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle, however this is not required for the role. We welcome applicants who use public transportation to apply.

The ideal person can assist producing natural & organic beauty products in the Lab, then jump into Marketing by creating a savvy, beautiful and on-brand MailChimp Email, run out to deliver products at one of our retail accounts, photograph some of our products and create a post for Instagram, then label and pack orders for shipping. Whew…It’s all in a days work!
